so i have this washing machine... and it kinda hates me.
let me explain. ok. in the states, you have a washing machine. you turn the click knob and push the button and away you go... water starts filling the tub, you dump your soap in and then your clothes, you close it, and come back in 30 mins to damp dry clothes. here, every washing machine is all digital and fancy. so fancy that it has about 10 buttons with 4 options for each of the 10 buttons that took me about 20 mins to figure out how to use it. not only that, during the 'spin cycle' if the clothes are even the slightest bit off balance, the most annoying bell starts chiming incessantly until you open the lid, and fix the unbalancedness. in the states, you know your laundry is unbalanced by the steady dadumpdadumpdadumpdadumpdadump that you hear when it's spinning. and at least you have the choice whether you feel like you should go fix it or not. here, the machine won't continue until you fix it. and if you don't fix it right, the bell keep chiming...
so i've lived in this particular living space for about 2.5 months now. and i've done laundry here probably about 10 times over the 2.5 months... once a week. and E-V-E-R-Y single time i do my laundry, i spend 10-15 mins at the laundry machine, rearranging clothes, to try to make it balanced so the 'bain of my existence bell' will stop and the machine will continue on it's journey into the spin cycle. but i swear it does it on purpose. and the more frustrated i get with the bell and the rearranging the weight, i think the machine takes joy in it... it's almost like it'll do the bell one extra time, just for the road, just to make a point... anyway, i hate it. and it hates me.
