i must gloat in last night's gluttonous victory. we were all out for daniel (the 87 mcnugget king) whan's bday last night, having drinks, doing what kids our age do, and this old challenge that we had planned, but never executed resurfaced... 2 burritos in 5 mins... loser pays for both and takes a shot of some of the spiciest hot sauce around... thinking of the next-day-mud-butt is reason enough to do work...

with all the taunting and jeering from the friendly (and not so) crowd, we made our way to el farolito - a taqueria in the mission that serves up some tasty authentic mexican dishes in this tiny hole-in-the-wall place... everyone is starving so we each order our own food...the bet (so we think) subsides... and then more taunts and jeers arise during the meal, which finally leads to dan walking over to me and asking if i'd like to do a side challenge: split 1 burrito - first to finish and swallow wins (twss).

i had a feeling something of this sort was going to occur, so instead of stuffing my face with mexican goodness (twss), i didn't eat as much as i usually do... i accept the challenge as dan fuels the fire by telling me how he's gonna kick my ass and i'll regret taking the bid...

dan orders the burrito...

after taking careful measurements, i cut the burrito to equal proportions...

the crowd gathers...

the timers are out and ready to time...

and we're off...

54 seconds later, i take the trophy while dan still has half of his half a burrito in his hands with a distraught look consuming his burrito encrusted face...

if i had a soundtrack to my life, eric b. & rakim would be blastin "don't sweat the technique" at that very moment... chuuuuuch.
