aaaaaaaaaand we're back.

finally back at home sweet home. doing laundry. love the smell of fresh laundry. can't go wrong with fresh draws either...catching up on the world that i left a week ago. it's like a breath of fresh air coming back into civilization. i'm gonna have to go back down to monterey again next week, but i'm gonna cherish my time back as much as possible.

i think the time alone was invaluable in that - when you're in your routine, you seldom stop long enough to really think. like seriously think about things. in between reruns and multiple showings of 'tranformers' on hbo, i really got to thinkin... i've always known at some point that i'd like to move back to seattle and settle down. as the years fly by, it's becoming more and more evident that affording a place in the bay is unrealistic, unless the $11 i won on superlotto the other day was a prelude to the mega millions jackpot for tomorrow night... but back to reality. i've devised a plan. no not a 30 year plan. not a 60 year plan. not even a 10 year plan. it's a 2-3 year plan. please follow along and let me know if i'm going too fast:

housing market in sf: solid, but expensive. housing market in seattle: softer, but growing...harder (twss). plan: become a hermit for the next 2-3 years. save every penny possible - with the exception of one last 'hoo-rah' in seattle in mid sept - and for real get my savings on. with a solid 2-3 years of savings, i WILL have enough for a down payment on a place of my own. the brf will have a branch in seattle. when i'm ready and got enough stacked, i WILL do some job searching, i WILL make the move up and WILL do work son...
